Jevons Lee, professor of accounting

The Freeman School has 62 full-time faculty members, including 14 full professors, 10 associate professors, 13 assistant professors and 25 clinical professors. Of these faculty positions, 11 are endowed chairs and 21 are endowed professorships.

In 2006, Thomson Scientific ranked the Freeman School in the top 1 percent of institutions according to citations in business and economics, with 230 faculty papers cited a total of 1,266 times.

Among the Freeman School’s endowed chairs are:

  • Albert A. Cannella Jr., Earl P. and Ethel B. Koerner Chair of Strategy and Entrepreneurship, a past president of the BPS Division of the Academy of Management and the author of more than 30 refereed articles in publications including Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Strategic Management Journal, Journal of Management and Journal of Financial Economics.
  • Robert S. Hansen, Francis Martin Chair in Business, director of the finance and accounting PhD program and a contributor to publications including Journal of Financial Economics, Review of Financial Studies and Journal of Business.
  • Thomas H. Noe, A. B. Freeman Chair of Finance, a regular contributor to publications including Journal of Finance, Review of Financial Studies and Journal of Financial Economics.
  • Paul Spindt, Keehn Berry Chair of Banking and Finance, who recently received a prestigious award from Journal of Finance for his research.
  • Mita Sujan, Malcolm S. Woldenberg Chair of Marketing, whose paper “Knowledge, Motivation and Adaptive Behavior: A Framework for Improving Selling Effectiveness” was ranked as the fifth best sales article of the 20th century by the American Marketing Association.
  • John M. Trapani III, Martin F. Schmidt Chair of International Business, who directs the Goldring Institute of International Business and oversees a series of innovative international programs and initiatives.
