Library & Technology

The Freeman School is dedicated to providing students with the most advanced resources needed to achieve their academic goals. The Lillian A. and Robert L. Turchin Library, located on the 3rd floor of the Goldring-Woldenberg Hall, contains over 30,000 bound volumes, subscribes to 200 periodicals and newspapers, and currently licenses more than 40 electronic databases for the use of the Tulane community. Books and periodical titles of the library are listed in the online catalog of Tulane University, TULANET Voyager, and most databases can be accessed by members of the Tulane community either in the library or from remote sites.

Goldring/Woldenberg Hall and the new Goldring/Woldenberg Hall II are “virtual computer labs” with wireless connectivity throughout each building as well as traditional Ethernet connections. These connections allow students with notebook computers to connect to the Freeman Network as well as to Tulane’s online services and the Internet. Computing facilities throughout the building include two labs, an electronic classroom, research stations in the library, teaching stations in each classroom and email stations.

Media Services provides audio/visual support to the students, faculty and staff of the Freeman School to enhance our educational programs and to improve the communication effectiveness of our students. Located in Goldring/Woldenberg Hall 201, Media Services maintains and supports classroom projectors, videocassette recorders, overhead transparency projectors and slide projectors.

The office also provide equipment and facilities to videotape presentations and maintains Burkenroad TargetVision, the Freeman School’s video bulletin board system.
