Freeman's Master of Finance (M.Fin.) is a specialized program designed for those who are ready to focus and advance in finance. The program consists of course work in finance, accounting, economics, and econometrics. The Masters of Finance is intended for students that have a strong quantitative background and who aspire to either a career or doctoral study in finance. The M.Fin. is a 12-month, 34-credit hour graduate program. You enroll in early summer and complete the degree requirements in spring of the following year. There are 19 credit hours of required finance courses, and 15 credit-hours of electives. Applicants must either hold a bachelor's degree or expect to receive a bachelor's degree before they commence the M.Fin. program. Prior training in finance or work experience is not required, but a strong academic record is necessary. THE GMAT IS REQUIRED OF ALL APPLICANTS TO BUSINESS GRADUATE PROGRAMS. The M.Fin. program is not intended for students returning to school after several years of work experience. In fact, in the admission process no special credit is given for prior work experience. M.Finance applicants use the graduate application. Students completing the Master of Finance program would be qualified to compete for research-oriented finance positions, such as financial and research analyst, financial engineer, and for positions in risk management, and quantitative asset management. |
