Alumni Affairs
Aldrich Society and our Annual Fund
The Morton A. Aldrich Society, named after the first dean of the A. B. Freeman School of Business, was established in 1984 to recognize the generosity of alumni and friends who donate $1,500 or more within a single fiscal year to the Freeman School. As an Aldrich Society Member, you are part of an elite group of supporters who keep the Freeman School running. Aldrich-level gifts directly offset operating costs, and allow the Freeman School the flexibility to meet the needs of our world-class students and faculty.
WHAT YOUR GIFT SUPPORTS
Building Success Housed in a $50 Million complex, including the state-of-the-art Goldring/Woldenberg Hall II, the Freeman School offers students a truly world-class learning environment. The technological centerpiece of Goldring/Woldenberg Hall II is the Trading Center, a $2.7 million trading room that acts as a hands-on laboratory for the teaching of energy, risk management, equities and options and was featured on CNBC. The systems in the Freeman School's labs, classrooms and lecture halls are updated every three years, to keep pace with ever-changing technology. Goldring/Woldenberg Halls I and II were both built for business, and both are made possible through alumni contributions.
Student Programs and Activities Support for the Freeman School ensures the continued funding of outstanding student programs including Burkenroad Reports and the Darwin Fenner Student Managed Fund, Freeman Days in New York, D.C., Houston and New Orleans, and the Goldring Institute for International Education. Your contributions also support valuable student services including academic advising, the Career Management Center, the Turchin Library, the Burkenroad Symposium and the R.W. Freeman Distinguished Lecture Series.
Quality of Education Contributed revenue makes up a considerable portion of operating costs at the Freeman School and directly assists us in providing our students with the highest quality of education possible. Monies raised enable us to attract and retain an outstanding faculty, award scholarships and fellowships, provide seed money for special projects and initiatives, and ensure that our facilities meet the needs of a world class business school, especially in the rapidly changing area of technology. Alumni giving is also a significant measure used by publications in ranking business schools, so your contributions directly impact the Freeman School's position in national rankings.
