Information systems professionals define, develop, and maintain the information systems infrastructure that supports the operations of all businesses, governments, and other institutions. These professionals use a wide variety of skills ranging from managerial to highly technical in carrying out this professional function. This major will help graduates to pursue opportunities in business analysis, consulting, information systems (IS) design, IS management, programming, and administration. To earn the BSM degree with a transcript designation as an information systems major, complete the following courses: General liberal arts and sciences requirements (approximately 44 hours) Freeman prerequisites (a minimum of 18 hours): Freeman core curriculum (27 hours): Information systems major required courses (9 hours): One non-business elective [200 level or higher] (3 hours) Two non-business or business electives [300 level or higher] (6 hours) Total: 122 hours BSM Check Sheets (pdf) |
