Business Minor (21 credit hours)

Prospective Students and Students Admitted during 2006-2007 and 2007-08

An undergraduate student who meets the major requirements for a major in the Schools of Architecture, Liberal Arts, Public Health and Tropical Medicine, or Science and Engineering and completes the following seven courses is eligible for transcript designation of a minor in business. Students wishing to declare a minor in business should consult with the Office of Undergraduate Education.

Required courses:
ACCN 201     Financial Accounting (3 credits)
Prerequisite:  Enrollment limited to sophomore standing or above       

Plus one of the following: 
ECON 101      Introductory Microeconomics (3 credits)
ECON 103      Honors Introductory Microeconomics (3 credits)

Plus four of the following business courses:
ACCN 301       Managerial Accounting (3credits)
Prerequisite:   ACCN 201 and Junior standing or above


CBMA 301       Consumer Behavior/Marketing Fundamentals (3 credits)
Prerequisites: MATH 114, MATH 115, ECON 101, ECON 102, and either PSYC 100, PSYC 101, or PSYC 102; Enrollment limited to juniors or above


FINE 301         Financial Management (3 credits)
Prerequisites: ACCN 201, MATH 114, MATH 115 or MATH 121, ECON 101, ECON 102 (concurrent enrollment allowed)


ISPM 101        Intro to Business Computing (3 credits)


ISPM 301        Business Modeling (3 credits)
Prerequisite: MATH 114 and ISPM 101


LGST 301        Legal, Ethical, & Regulatory Environment of Business (3 credits)
Prerequisite: ECON 101; Enrollment limited to sophomore standing or above


MHSC 301       Organizational Behavior (3 credits)
Prerequisites: Newcomb-Tulane College social science core requirement; Enrollment limited to juniors or above
Course offered during Spring semester only.


MOCO 301      Management Communication (3 credits)
Prerequisites: ENGL 101 or ENLS 119; Enrollment limited to juniors or above

Plus one additional 3 credit Freeman elective (300-400 level) or both TIDB 101 (or TIDB102) and TIDB 111.
