Academic Programs

Tulane Student Programs
The Freeman School offers undergraduate students the opportunity to study abroad during the summer between their junior and senior year at several locations in Europe. These locations include Budapest, Hungary, Prague, Czech Republic, Paris, France, and Madrid, Spain. In addition, undergraduate students may spend a semester abroad at affiliated institutions in Europe, Asia, and Latin America.

Programs for Foreign Students
The Freeman School offers foreign students the opportunity to study at Tulane under several different programs. The advance placement program allows second year MBA students from selected institutions to receive their MBA degree from Tulane University by completing the second year of the MBA program at the Freeman School. In addition, MBA students and undergraduates students from many affiliated institutions are invited to spend one semester at Tulane University studying in the Freeman School of Business. This arrangement is provided to affiliated institutions throughout the world. The Freeman School also offers a summer study abroad program for Mexican and Colombian students here in New Orleans each summer. Students in this program study the economic, political and social environment of the United States, as well as business management and entrepreneurship.

Programs for Foreign Faculty
Faculty from affiliated institutions are invited to visit the Freeman School as guest faculty to teach and do research in New Orleans. In addition, the Freeman School offers faculty development PhD programs which are taught in part off-site and provide faculty from several institutions the opportunity to earn a PhD degree thereby enhancing their professional careers as educators and researchers. The faculty development PhD programs at Tulane are unique and have brought a great deal of recognition to the Freeman School. These programs have been offered for Instituto Tecnologico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM) located in Monterrey, Mexico, the largest private university in Mexico and for the faculty of Universidad de los Andes. Universidad de los Andes is also a top private institution in the country of Colombia. A similar program is planned in coordination with IESA in Caracas, Venezuela. This PhD program provides a unique opportunity for Tulane faculty to experience the cultures and learn the educational systems of the countries represented.

Programs for Foreign Managers
The Freeman School offers a number of non-credit management development programs and joint-venture certificate programs for managers from Asia, Europe, and Latin America. The joint venture certificate programs involve the delivery of MBA curricula for executives where the degree is given by a local institution and Tulane provides technical assistance on program design and staffing of some courses. In most cases these are programs designed for the transfer of management education technology and to assist these institutions to develop management education expertise. The Freeman School also has joint venture executive MBA degree granting programs in Asia and in South America. The full joint ventures are with leading business school in these countries. In these programs Tulane designs the curriculum, has a significant role in teaching in these academic programs, and awards their MBA degree.
