Goldring Institute of International Business

Strategic Initiatives

Academic Programs
Study Abroad: The academic programs of the Institute are designed to enable Freeman students to live and study in other cultures. The courses offered develop management skills by focusing on concepts, cultural understanding and global strategies that create competitive advantages in international business. At the universities abroad, students study and live in a campus environment for periods of 2 months to a full academic year.

Concentration in International Management: students in the full-time MBA program may choose to concentrate on the international environment in which organizations operate. The Institute offers many courses related with international business or international economics.

Executive and Faculty Development Programs: the Institute promotes several programs to support Faculty development in Latin America or Executive development in coordination with the Stewart Center for Executive Education.

Center for Latin American Business Studies
The Center for Latin American Business Studies serves as a resource for education and research on the economic and corporate environment in Latin America.

Latin American Research Consortium: The Consortium compiles security price data and supports research on Latin American financial markets, as well as on topics of organizational behavior.

Latin American Doctoral Consortium: This Consortium will offer PhD curricula in law and business with the assistance of a consortium of top Latin American professional schools using New Orleans as the hombebase with satellite facilities located in Central America and South America.

Burkenroad Reports for Latin America: The Burkenroad Reports are financial reports on small, medium and less traded companies. This project has started in Louisiana and will be expanded to selected Latin American countries. The project promises to enhance skills and human capital related to financial market research and efficient market operation as well as providing valuable information on local companies to facilitate capital flows in the region.

Tulane has been ranked by the Ford Foundation as the major international studies research institution in the South and one of the top fifteen nationally. Nearly every department of the University has a meaningful research and cooperation program. The Center for Latin American Studies at Tulane is ranked among the top 2 in this model.
