 Career Exploration

 Advising

Most students have an intense concern about their career opportunities after graduation and find the entire process of making a career choice and conducting a job search to be complex and, at times, overwhelming. Common questions such as, "Where do I begin?" or "Where can I find resources to help me?" are typical and can be answered by the Career Management Center's professional staff.

Career consultants are available to guide undergraduate business majors, graduate business students in the MBA, MACCT, MFIN, Joint Degree, and PMBA programs, and Freeman alumni in the discussion and exploration of their career options and job search processes through scheduled appointments. Topics often discussed include individual job search strategies, resume reviews, career exploration, self-assessment, identifying and researching potential employers, networking, and salary negotiations. Advising appointments are scheduled in advance and are available Monday - Friday To schedule an appointment, please call (504) 865-5417 or stop by the Career Management Center, Suite 300.

 Scheduling an Appointment
When scheduling an appointment, please provide the receptionist with the following information:
*Name
*Academic Status (Senior, MBA, etc.)
*Contact number
*Reason for appointment
*Copy of resume (if requesting a resume review)

Canceling an Appointment
If it becomes necessary to cancel a scheduled appointment due to unforeseen circumstances, please call the CMC office and inform the receptionist of your cancellation as soon as possible so that we may accommodate another student during that time period.
