Study.Net Use in Labs and Classrooms

Some students have reported problems accessing Study.Net documents in the Freeman School computer labs. Hours of time spent working with Study.Net technical support have resulted in no resolution to the problems. The primary issue as noted by Study.Net technical support is that the product has problems operating in a shared environment such as a computer lab - a problem for which they have no solution.

Over the past few semesters, many of the problems that we have encountered in the labs were associated with incorrect passwords being distributed by Study.Net. Other problems included unannounced changes in the Study.Net "unsealer" program and the program incorrectly identifying the available version of Adobe Acrobat Reader. We also believe that many of the problems may be associated with a cookie that is written to the computer at document access time which is mismatched or nonexistent when the student attempts to access the same document at a later time on another computer.

Given the number of problems associated with the use of Study.Net in our computer labs, students are encouraged to access and download Study.Net documents using their own personal computer. Even then, students should be aware of the Study.Net requirements as outlined on their web site:
https://www.study.net/help/help_frame.asp

Most importantly, as noted on the Study.Net help page, students should register with Study.Net in order to obtain a login and password. After registering, students must login using the information supplied by Study.Net. Also, cookies must be enabled on your computer in order to login to Study.Net and access documents.

Students should note that they can choose to order printed course materials which are delivered within 4 to 5 days of the online order, according to the Study.Net help page.

For help with Study.Net document access, students can contact Study.Net technical support using the following numbers:
Toll-free customer service telephone: (888) 462-0660
Outside USA, customer service telephone: (954) 462-0660
