Adding the Color Printer to your Computer

 

 

This document outlines the steps to add the color printer to your computer.  These directions will work for Windows XP and Windows 2000.  If you already have a drive mapped to the Freemanprint server you may begin with step 6.

 

1.      Right Click on the My Network Places icon and select Map Network Drive.

2.      In the box labeled Drive, select Z (any other letter will work if Z is already in use).

3.      In the box labeled Folder type in:   \\FREEMANPRINT\ptr$

4.      If you are asked for a username and password type in freeman\<your logon name> in the box labeled name and type in your Freeman network password where it asks for the password.

5.      If your operating system is Windows XP or Windows 2000 double-click on the file called 431cp.  This will add the color printer to your computer.  If this does not work add the printer manually beginning with step 6.

6.      Click START.

7.      Click SETTINGS

8.      Click PRINTERS

9.      Double click ADD PRINTER

10.  Click NEXT

11.  Click the dot next to NETWORK printer to select it

12.  Click the dot next to Connect to this printer (Windows 2000 says Type the printer name)  and type in  \\Freemanprint\431CP

13.  Click NEXT

14.  Click NEXT

15.  Click Finish
