Professional Experience
Although significant work experience is not a key consideration for the Weekend MBA program, the Committee will expect the candidate to have two years of full-time, postgraduate work experience and will also consider the candidate's initiative and level of professional responsibility.
Demonstrated Ability
The committee considers a candidate's professional background, past academic performance, and the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) results.
Degree Requirements
Official transcripts from the registrar of all colleges and universities attended must be requested by the candidate and sent directly to the Stewart Center of Executive Education. Candidates must have earned an undergraduate degree. Neither a business degree nor specific business courses are required for admission.
General Management Admission Test (GMAT)
Acceptable GMAT test scores are required for admission into the program.
GMAT information is available at www.MBA.com. Official scores must be mailed directly to the Tulane University Executive MBA office (Code 6840) by the Educational Testing Service (ETS). These scores are mailed by ETS approximately two weeks after the test date.
Personal Interview
The interview aids the Committee in assessing the candidate's strengths, motivations, personal commitment, and ability to meet the demands of the program. The interview also offers the candidate and opportunity to ask questions and discuss any individual concerns with the program director. We strongly encourage applicants to schedule an interview early in the application process. To schedule an interview, contact Jim Rahe, Director of Houston MBA Programs, at 713.586.6405 or jrahe@tulane.edu.
Recommendations
Two recommendations, attesting to the applicant's academic and professional abilities, are required. One recommendation should be from a high-ranking officer from the candidate's organization. A second should be from an immediate supervisor (or for self-employed applicants, a business associate) who knows the candidate well and has intimate knowledge of the candidate's work. Recommendations may be completed online or downloaded from the Web site.
Essays
These essays demonstrate the candidate's ability to express thoughts clearly and effectively, and assist the committee in evaluating the candidate's character, maturity, personal and professional aspirations, and motivations for applying to the Tulane program.
Application Fee
Applicants must submit a non-refundable $100 application fee in the form of a check or money order payable to Tulane University.
