Houston MBA-Master of Finance Program

Freeman MBA Alumni Admission Requirements

Tulane MBA graduates can also earn a Master of Finance (MFIN) degree by completing the necessary coursework in the Houston Master of Finance program.

A total of 32 credit hours (16 courses) are required in the MFIN program, and up to eight (8) courses may be waived for Freeman School MBA graduates.

How This Works
Any course in the MFIN program curriculum that was previously completed in any Freeman School MBA program (Executive MBA, Professional MBA, or Full-time MBA) can be waived by the Admissions Committee if the following criteria are met:

  • For each course considered for waiver, a grade of B, P, or higher, was earned,
  • For each course considered for waiver, the course credits earned match or exceed those required in the MFIN program,
  • Each course was completed within five years from the start of any MFIN coursework, and
  • All MFIN coursework is completed within 16 months from the date the candidate begins MFIN program.

Course substitutions generally are not allowed. Candidates may petition the Admissions Committee for a determination on any substitutions for course waivers.
