Tulane receives Department of Energy grant

The Return of the Masters of the Universe --- Part Two

In October of 2008, a joint school of science and engineering / business school team at Tulane was awarded a $233,500 subcontract funded by the Dept. of Energy to study the development of butanol from biomass and the impact of carbon emissions policy and transportation costs on the supply chain for alternate fuels. The Tulane team is W.T. Godbey, Victor Law, Larry Byers, Davil Mullin, Geoffrey Parker, John Prindle, and Eric Smith. Paul Bergey of North Carolina State University began working on the project when he came to Tulane as a visiting professor in Fall 2008.
