| Joe LeBlanc wins 2009 Howard W. Wissner Best Professor of the Year Award
This prestigious award is voted on by the entire MBA class and presented each spring to a faculty member who is deemed to have exhibited the most outstanding teaching qualities during the year and to have made significant contributions to the Freeman School.
Professor LeBlanc came to Tulane University in Spring 2007 as an adjunct professor and in July 2008, became the Director of the Trading Center. The A.B. Freeman Trading Center is a $3 million dollar facility that acts as a hands-on laboratory for the teaching of energy, risk management, equities, and options. The Trading Center replicates a real-world trading experience and functions as a classroom and a laboratory. The center facilitates experiential learning programs such as the Energy Trading, Burkenroad Reports, the Darwin Fenner Student Managed Fund, and features state-of-the-art hardware and software equipped with industry-leading simulation, trading and financial software from Thomson Reuters, Trading Technologies, Advantage Futures, and Oracle.
As Associate Director of the Tulane Energy Institute, Joe brings with him 25+ years experience in the oil and gas industry. Joe teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in Energy Fundamentals of Trading as well as Advanced Energy Trading and Finance.
