More than 75 Freeman students volunteered their time and efforts to help clean up New Orleans' hard-hit Lakeview neighborhood as part of this year's MBA orientation program. Working with the Beacon of Hope Resource Center, a grassroots organization founded to help homeowners rebuild in the wake of Hurricane Katrina, the MBAs spent the afternoon of Aug. 23 removing dirt, debris and weeds from storm drains, a critical need to prevent neighborhood street flooding during hurricane season. In all, more than 100 Freeman School volunteers-including faculty and staff-helped keep Lakeview high and dry.
