Management Communication Center

International Student Services

The Management Communication Center provides extra support to Freeman's international students through tutoring and non-native English language skills appointments.

Tutoring

The MCC encourages international students to take advantage of our tutoring services to review and revise written assignments and to practice oral presentations. We also recommend you plan far enough in advance.  Often, scheduling more than one appointment will yield the best feedback on your work; therefore, we encourage you to start your assignments early to take advantage of multiple appointments.

Please follow these guidelines to email us your draft for General Office Hours:

1. Email your double-spaced draft to us at cfransen@tulane.edu at least 24 hours before your appointment time (Do not drop off a copy of the draft to our offices), and
2. Type your name and the date and time of your appointment in the Subject field of the email (e.g., Joe Student January 22 2:30pm).

Furthermore, for General Office Hours papers longer than 8 double-spaced pages: To help ensure the writing instructor has adequate time to review your long papers, please choose one of the following options:

1. Sign up for an available 30-minute appointment and email the draft to cfransen@tulane.edu at least 24 hours prior to your appointment, or
2. Sign up for 2 consecutive 30-minute appointments if you are unable to submit the draft for review 24 hours prior to your appointment.

Non-Native English Language Skills

By offering non-native language skills appointments through General Office Hours, the Management Communication Center provides further support to Freeman's international students. These appointments typically last 30 minutes and cover one or more of the following:
  • Reading comprehension
  • American idiom usage
  • Pronunciation practice
  • Conversation practice

To schedule an appointment for non-native English language skills, you can sign up on the General Office Hours sheet posted on the MCC bulletin board outside Room 220. Walk-ins are also welcome when appointments are available.
