New Orleans

New Orleans... a city with a rich colorful history...a birthplace of traditions. It is here that the A. B. Freeman School of Business at Tulane University lives up to it's proud past, educates the future, and maintains a tradition of excellence.

As the nation's largest port, New Orleans plays a critical role in North America's expanding commerce with Latin America, Europe and Africa. Other industries that shape the city's economy include petrochemical products, healthcare and tourism.

Annual events such as Mardi Gras, the Jazz and Heritage Festival and the Sugar Bowl make New Orleans one of the largest convention cities in the United States and an international tourist destination. The carefully preserved charm of the French Quarter entices tourists and natives alike with a blend of historic museums, antique shops, art galleries, fine restaurants and jazz clubs. The revitalized riverfront area includes the Riverwalk and Jackson Brewery marketplaces, Woldenberg Riverfront Park, a streetcar line, the world-class New Orleans Convention Center and the Aquarium of the Americas. Culturally, art, drama, music and literature all share the stage in New Orleans. The Theater of the Performing Arts is home to the city's opera (the United States' oldest) and ballet companies. Concerts and Broadway shows play regularly at the Saenger Theater, and the Orpheum is home to Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra. The recently expanded New Orleans Museum of Art houses an internationally recognized permanent collection of paintings, sculptures, and decorative arts and holds special exhibitions throughout the year. New Orleans' semi-tropical temperature allows students to enjoy the outdoors year-round. Popular activities include visiting the world-renowned Audubon Zoo, sailing on Lake Pontchartrain and running in the Crescent City Classic - one of the largest road races in the country.

Living and studying in New Orleans, a truly international city in its cultural heritage and business relationships, only serves to enhance students' quality of life and professional prospects.

The Freeman School is an integral part of Tulane University, one of the country's most respected private universities. With a student population exceeding 11,000 drawn from around the world, Tulane is a diverse educational community offering superb resources and facilities.
