Programs

Five years of formal training is the emerging standard for education in professional accounting. The Master of Accounting program (MACCT) admits students with undergraduate business degrees or the equivalent from accredited schools. This one-year program custom designs a curriculum for each student to ensure breadth in business and an appropriate specialization in accounting.
Applicants must either hold a bachelor's degree or expect to receive a bachelor's degree before they commence the MACCT program. Applicants are expected to have completed prerequisite courses in financial accounting, managerial/cost accounting, and intermediate accounting. An undergraduate degree in accounting is not a prerequisite for the program. MACCT applicants use the graduate application to the Freeman School. Official valid GMAT score is required for MACCT admission. Admitted applicants will exhibit exceptional performance in accounting and will present strong recommendations from individuals who can attest to the candidates aptitude for graduate school.
Students completing the MACCT program would be qualified for advanced careers in accounting, consulting, or continued graduate study. Students must meet qualification requirements to sit for the CPA examination to receive the MACCT degree.
