Curriculum

The Tulane MBA is a two-year, four-semester program that includes:

  • 22 credits of Knowledge Core - classes that teach business fundamentals including leadership, management, operations, accounting, statistics, and analytics
  • 18 credits of Global Leadership and Practice of Management - modules that offer on-site international learning and hands-on business experience
  • 21 credits of electives - courses that enable students to develop their specific career interests

First Year

SEMESTER ONE

Orientation:

  • Writing Skills Assessment

Session One:

  • Managerial Economics
  • Practice of Management I - Strategic Management

Session Two:

  • Marketing Management
  • Global Leadership I - Economic Environment of Global Business

Full Semester:

  • Business Statistics and Models
  • Analysis for Financial Management

SEMESTER TWO

Session One:

  • Management Communication

Session Two:

  • Global Leadership II - European Union (includes international trip in May)

Full Semester:

  • Process Modeling & Decision Making
  • Accounting Measurement, Reporting, and Control
  • Practice of Management II - Marketing Planning and Implementation and/or
  • Practice of Management III - Strategic Consulting and/or Equity Analysis/Burkenroad Reports
  • Electives

SUMMER SEMESTER
Options include internships, study programs, and work programs, including international opportunities.

 

Second Year

SEMESTER THREE

Session One:

  • Managing People

Session Two:

  • Global Leadership III - Latin America (includes international trip in December)

Full Semester:

  • Practice of Management III - Strategic Consulting and/or Equity Analysis/Burkenroad Reports
  • Electives

 

SEMESTER FOUR

Session One:

  • Leadership and Ethics

Session Two:

  • Global Leadership IV - Asia (with international trip over spring break)

Full Semester:

  • Practice of Management IV - New Venture Planning
