Programs
MRISK is an intensive full-time program with enrollment starting in January. The program includes coursework in finance, risk management, econometrics, and energy finance. The MRISK is a 11-month, 34 credit-hour graduate program. You start in December with an on-line course. The program continues on-campus from January through December.
Freeman's Master of Finance (MRISK) is a specialized program designed for those who are ready to focus and advance in financial risk managment. The program consists of course work in finance, risk management, and econometrics. This program is intended for students that have a strong quantitative background and who aspire to either a career in financial risk management. The M.Fin. is a 11-month, 34-credit hour graduate program. You enroll in the fall semester and complete the degree requirements in December of the following year.
MRISK program graduates are prepared to meet the demand of today’s financial arena. MRISK grads have mastered the analytical and practical tools necessary to manage financial risk in a modern, global environment. Tulane’s program prepares the MRISK graduate to take the Level I Financial Risk Manager exam (and to advance in most of the material required for the Level II exam).
The Freeman Career Management Center works with you throughout the MRISK program to develop professional opportunities. Unique Freeman events like Freeman Days in New York, Houston, and New Orleans help you build networks within the larger financial markets.
Applicants must either hold a bachelor's degree or expect to receive a bachelor's degree before they commence the program. Prior training in finance or work experience is not required, but a strong academic record is necessary. The GMAT is required. MRISK applicants use the Master of Finance graduate application. Students completing the program would be qualified to compete for positions risk management and have obtained FRM certification.
