All documents should be submitted electronically. Where possible, documents should be uploaded to the application. Official documents (transcripts) are submitted after admission with other forms for enrollment. Further details on the application process are provided at the FAQ link.

Application Process

Applications are processed in the order in which they are received for the summer 2016 application cycle.  We will review applications in three rounds of deadlines  We strive to notify applicants of an admission decision within four to six weeks of submitting a complete application. 


Deadlines: We encourage international applicants to submit applications by May 1st to ensure time for processing. 

Priority Round November 1st  
Second Round February 1st  
Third Round May 1st  

Priority application is designed for international students who want early admission decision and U.S. students who are interested in fellowship consideration.  U.S. applicant can apply up until the start of classes!  After the third round, we will continue to accept applications and make admission decisions as long as we have seats available.


Applicants must either hold a bachelor's degree or expect to receive a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution before they begin the MFIN program. College coursework demonstrating exceptional quantitative abilities is required as well as a strong GMAT score. No post graduate work experience is necessary; however, internship experience in a finance related field is a plus.

We complete and review applications with unofficial transcript(s) and score reports; however, if admitted, all official credentials must be submitted prior to enrollment. Please do not submit paper credentials to our office, all required application credentials can be uploaded or self- reported in the online application. Score reports can be submitted to us directly, but all other credentials should be submitted via the online application system. A complete application is sent to the Admissions Committee for review after the below credentials have been received by our office.

  • Online Application Form ($125 application fee)
  • Resume or CV (uploaded online)
  • One Essay (uploaded online)
  • One Letter of Recommendation (submitted online)
  • Undergraduate Transcript(s) from all attended Accredited Universities (uploaded online)
  • International students educated outside of the U.S. are required to submit evaluated transcripts using one of the preferred evaluators.  This includes:  World Education Services (WES), Educational Credential Evaluators ( ECE), Educational Perspective, and One Earth Evaluators,
  • GMAT or GRE Score Report (uploaded online)
  • TOEFL, IELTS, or Pearson (PTE) Score Report (uploaded online, International students only)*
  • Affidavit of Support (International students only)**


EFFECTIVE FOR ALL SUMMER 2015 INTERNATIONAL APPLICANTS - You will be required to submit evaluated transcripts as part of your application process.  The evaluation company will send us an official copy of your completed evaluation.  You will still be required to upload your unofficial transcripts to us through the online application.  Please refer to the International Applicant page in the application.

* The Freeman School recommends the following minimum TOEFL scores: 550 (paper based); 250 (computer based); 20 or higher in each section (internet based). We require a minimum of 6.5 of on the IELTS. In order to be successful in this program your English language skills should be excellent.

** Since international applicants are not eligible for financial aid or fellowships in this program, the Affidavit of Support form and copies of supporting financial documentation are required to complete the application for review.
