  • Developed at Tulane to meet the needs of the energy industry.
  • Created by experienced university professors and energy industry experts.
  • Offers hands-on applications taught by faculty with academic and professional backgrounds.
  • Features leading edge technology and software from CME Group, Thompson Reuters, Logical Information Machines, and Trading Technologies.
  • Utilizes state-of-the-art simulators providing real trading experiences.
  • Provides energy focused curriculum in a globally recognized business school.
  • Integrates a network of industry partners and corporate recruiters committed to the program.

This distinctive and unique degree is a comprehensive 36 credit-hour program focused on energy. In addition, summer preparatory courses are required for students who do not have a background in accounting, and finance.  A summer session introduces energy finance and modeling skills.

Tulane's Master of Managment in Energy is designed for those who are ready to focus and advance in the fast paced energy industry. The program is intended for those students with exceptional quantitative skills who aspire to a career in the energy industry.

Applicants must either hold a bachelor's degree or expect to receive a bachelor's degree before they commence the program.  College coursework demonstrating exceptional quantitative abilities is required as well as a strong GMAT score. No post-graduate work experience is necessary; however, internship experience in a quantitative field is a plus. Graduates of the program will be qualified for jobs with energy companies, banks, financial services and consulting firms, and trading organizations.

The program assists students in preparing for the Series 3 (National Commodity Futures Exam), Series 7 (General Securities Representative Exam (Stockbroker), Series 63 (Uniform Securities Agent State Law Exam), and Energy Risk Professional (ERP) examinations.  Sample examinations will be used throughout the course to gauge the students' progress in learning the material and preparing for the exams.

An important element of this degree is the Tulane Energy Institute's placement program which is comprised of a network of corporate partners and sponsors to facilitate job placement of graduates.
