Master of Management in Energy

Are you ready for a career in one of the most dynamic areas of business the business of energy? Are you ready to focus on the knowledge and skills for a career in the business of energy which include positions in energy finance, sell side analysis, risk management, consulting and trading? With a unique curriculum that combines rigorous academic training with real-world applications and sophisticated simulations, Master of Management in Energy (MNRG) will provide you with a focused approach to understanding the unique and challenging energy finance arena and the extensive hands-on experience using the industry's most advanced professional simulations and trading tools found anywhere. Graduates of the program will be qualified for jobs with energy companies, specialist securities firms, banking, financial services firms, and trading organizations.

The Master of Management in Energy includes coursework focused on energy finance, risk management, and trading. The unique curriculum combines rigorous academic requirements with experience in real-world applications and simulations in analysis and trading. The 34 credit-hour graduate program, you start in July with an intensive summer session and continue lock-step courses from August through May.

The Freeman Career Management Center, and the Tulane Energy Institute work with you throughout the program to develop professional opportunities. World-class energy - focused events help you build networks within the energy industry.  The program assists students in preparing for the Series 3 (National Commodity Futures Exam), Series 7 (General Securities Representative Exam (Stockbroker), Series 63 (Uniform Securities Agent State Law Exam), and Energy Risk Professional (ERP) examinations. Sample examinations will be used throughout the course to gauge the students' progress in learning the material and preparing for the exams.  An important element of this degree is the Tulane Energy Institute's Placement Program which is comprised of a network of corporate partners and sponsors to facilitate job placement of graduates.

Applicants must either hold a bachelor's degree or expect to receive a bachelor's degree before they commence the program. Prior training in finance or work experience is not required, but a strong academic record and extensive quantitative preparation are necessary and should include calculus and statistics at the college level.

Students completing the program are ready for careers as financial and research analysts, financial engineers, and quantitative asset managers.
