    Full-text coverage of 6,000 newspapers, periodicals, and other sources of business and general news compiled by Dow-Jones and Reuters.  Some international sources. 
  • ABI/Inform (Proquest Direct )
    Provides index and some full text/image coverage of 1000 business journals and magazines, including most academic journals   from 1970 to the present. Searchable by keywords, author, journal, subject, and company .
  • Business Source Complete
    Comprehensive index and abstracting of 3,800 journals, magazines, and other publications, 3,000 of which are available in full text. Entire database can be searched a number of ways, including by subject, article title, author, keywords, date range, and periodical title. Includes many core scholarly publications in the fields of marketing, management, accounting, finance, and MIS.

    Provides access to a wide range of news, business, legal, and reference information

    Includes market research reports and other information on 10,000 companies, 2,000 industries, and 50 countries

    Market research reports from an international and European perspective
  • Sports Business Research Network (SBRnet)
    Marketing information and research regarding the business of sports & fitness.
  • Consumer Expenditure Survey
    Published every 2 years by the U.S. Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics. Many commercially available statistics are based on these and other statistical reports issued by the US federal government.
    Census of Retail Trade
    National, state, county, and city statistics on retail sales, employees, and payrolls collected by the Census Bureau. Complete data is available on CD-ROM in the Government Documents Dept at Howard-Tilton.

  • Encyclopedia of Business & Management. Reference HF1001.I53
    This set of encyclopedias published in 1996 has entries on all aspects of marketing.
  • Blackwell Encyclopedia of Management . Reference HD30.15.B463
    Vol. IV of this set published in 1997 is titled Marketing, and includes a number of marketing topics. Each entry includes a bibliography of books and journal articles.

    Includes detailed maps of states and counties, along with demographic, economic and business information on a county and city level.

    An annual survey published by the periodical Sales & Marketing Management, this provides demographic and economic estimates by county, MSA, and TV markets, along with a buying power index.
  • Sourcebook of Zip Code Demographics. Reference HA203.S65
    Includes demographic and economic data from the Bureau of the Census by zip code. Also includes a measure of "spending potential".
  • Demographics USA. County Edition. Reference HC110.C6S86
    Covers population demographics, household data, effective buying income, retail sales, consumer expenditure data, and employment & occupational data on a county, metropolitan statistical area, and designated market area (TV market). Includes application guides to marketing, advertising, and sales planning.
  • County and City Extra. Annual Metro, City, and County Data Book . Reference HA203.C68.
    An annual publication providing statistical information by state, county, metropolitan area, congressional district, and for all cities over 25,000. Drawn from government sources, topics include population, income, poverty, crime, education, personal income and earnings, employment, housing, agriculture, manufacturing, service industries, and wholesale and retail trade.

    Books
    Books can be located by title, author, subject, or keyword in the Web-based TULANET Voyager. All libraries on the Tulane campus with the exception of the Law Library are included.

Journals & Magazines
The periodical literature is often more detailed and current than books, and can be searched through electronic collections such as ABI/Inform, Business SOurce Premier, or Reference Business Suite.
